Dirty Kitchen

Kitchen cleaning is a special challenge, second only to bathrooms. Keeping it clean can be a frustrating experience. Our counter at home is a spilled coffee magnet for when we stagger downstairs for that first cup, and that's just the two of us trying to wake up. After a long brainstorming session at the office, I'm sure some work break areas look like they re-enacted the Civil War with espressos. Toss in a few microwaved batches of messy leftovers for early birds or night owls who work through their meals, add the victory feasts when their work pays off, and you can have a major cleaning session ahead of you. We have what you need to take the stress out of the mess.

Degreasers are a must. Some are gentle enough to be used as a all purpose cleaner, showing their rough side only to grease and other food stains. It would have come in handy when one place I worked generously gave us a build-you-own fajita bar after a very good quarter (it was as wonderful as it was messy). A good cleaner would have gotten rid of the salsa, ground beef stains, and guacamole splatters in one shot.

Glass cleaner can also cover a multitude of sins. I have used a paper towel with glass cleaner residue to take a swat at a laminate desk or book case. A quick buff may keep chrome faucets shiny too.

Sinks usually need extra attention. A good drain maintainer is your wingman. It's a lot easier to pour a shot of it down the sink twice a week (or up to four if you're dealing with a crew that likes a lot of greasy takeout) than to fight a clog. Hard water and soap can leave behind tough film, and a good scum remover can save you time and scrubbing.

Wipes are wonderful for quick cleaning of counters, and a disinfecting wipe kills two birds with one stone. Not only will your counter be clean but any pathogens should be destroyed too.

We Fight Dirty! . . . and we demystify the process for you!
